Lassen 1: Cinder cone

Weekend évasion au parc volcanique Lassen, situé à 4h au nord de Berkeley. Trop l'éclate, des décors incroyables, très peu de monde sur les sentiers, on recommande à fond!
Weekend escape to the volcanic Lassen Park, situated 4 hours north of Berkeley. Beautiful scenery, very little people on the paths; we recommend it highly.














On s'est loué un petit chalet à Shingletown, pas loin du parc, avec nos potes Jordane, Marion et Fred.

We rented a little cabin in Shingletown, not far from the park with Jordan, Marion and Fred.


Premier jour, direction lac Butte et volcan Cinder Cone.

First day, we hit the road towards Butte lake and the Cinder Cone volcano.

Petite farniente au bord du lac en attendant qu'Ozan finisse sa sieste.

A lazy break on the side of the lake while waiting for Ozan to finish his nap.


Puis randonnée jusqu'au volcan.

Then the hike to the volcano.

Coulée de lave.

Lava flows.

Le cône volcanique.

Et c'est parti pour l'ascension!
Then comes the climbing!

L'effort est amplement récompensé.

The effort was well worth it.

La descente par l'autre flan, pas forcément plus facile que la montée.

Going down was no picnic either.
