Ahhhh! un samedi tranquillou à la maison après une longue semaine chez la nounou.
Aaaah.. I had such a relaxing Saturday after a long week of daycare..

D'abord j'ai grimpé sur papa et lui ai donné plein de bisous.
First I climbed up on my daddy's chest and gave away lots of kisses.

Du coup il a sorti ma grande couverture et on a joué ensemble par terre.

J'ai passé plein de temps sur la couverture que Simge m'a ramenée de Corée. J'ai joué avec mon minibus hipppie qui roule tout seul!
Then I spent plenty of time on this great Korean blanket Simge brought for me
I drove my hippie minibus : it rolls so well and so far!












Et après j'ai lu à maman l'histoire du chien qui a perdu son os. J'ai aidé le petit chien à retrouver son os, trop bien ce livre, merci Matt!
and then I read this great dog story to my mom where the doggy and I kept looking for his bone! such a great book, thanks Matt!

Glide Church

Aujourd'hui c'est dimanche, le jour du Seigneur, comme à notre habitude nous nous rendons à l'église (!).

Today is Sunday, worship day, as usual we go to church (!).







Bon d'accord, pas n'importe quelle église, l'ultra moderniste Glide Memorial Church à San Francisco. Une expérience qui vaut le coup rien que pour l'incroyable chœur gospel.
Okay okay, not just any church, we go to a radical progressive church in San Francisco: Glide Memorial Church. Its amazing gospel choir by itself is worth the trip.

Quelques jours à peine après l'élection de Barack Obama, on pouvait pas mieux choisir pour notre première messe. La cerémonie, devrais-je dire le show, sera tout à son honneur.
Only a few days after the election of Barack Obama, we are in for a full celebration. The ceremony, or more adequately stated the 'show' is all in his honor.


Depuis les années 60, Glide Church a servi de relais à la contre-culture en devenant l'une des églises les plus libérale des Etats-Unis. Ils fournissent de nombreux services aux pauvres et marginaux (repas gratuits, tests HIV, premiers soins, programmes de désintoxication...). Ils se battent également contre tout type de discrimination, que ce soit raciale, religieuse ou de préférence sexuelle. Ils soutiennent notamment la loi de mariage entre personnes de même sexe qui vient malheureusement d'être annulée en Californie.

Although conservative until the 1960s, since then Glide Church has served as a counter-culture rallying point and has been one of the most prominently liberal churches in the US. Glide Church provides various services for the poor and disenfranchised (free meals, AIDS testing, mental and primary health care, drug and alcohol recovery programs, and much more). Importantly, they fight against any type of discrimination, racial, religious or concerning sexual orientation. Needless to say they also fought against Prop8. Here, every hallelujah is followed by shalom, namaste, selam.

Now I have my own room with a big bed and a mobile that moves by itself.
