Seattle
Deniz est en congrès à Seattle. Alex et Ozan la rejoignent deux jours plus tard.
Deniz was at a meeting in Seattle. We joined her there for the last few days of the meeting.

Berkeley. On peut y voir la longue avenue University qui monte jusqu'au campus.

Ozan très attentif tout le long du voyage.
Ozan is very attentive during the whole flight.
On approche de Seattle, région volcanique.
We get closer to Seattle, volcanic region.
On atterrit à Seattle, avec au loin la vue sur le Mont Reinier.
We land in Seattle with a view over Mount Reinier.
Le voyage n'est pas fini, il faut encore prendre le train avant d'arriver à l'hôtel et retrouver maman.
The trip is not over, we still need to take the train to get to the hotel where mom is.

Le lendemain, promenade sur le marché avec Guy, l'ancien chef de Deniz.
The next day, we go to the Farmer's Market with Guy, Deniz's PhD supervisor.
On retrouve une autre vieille connaissance, le monsieur au marteau qui habitait près de chez nous à Francfort, ici devant le musée d'art moderne de Seattle (SAM).
We find another old friend close by the museum, the man with the hammer that we saw everyday in Frankfurt. His replicate greets us in from of the Seattle Art Museum (SAM).

An excellent temporary show by (the other) Nick Cave, a Chicago based artist.

Et une dégustation de bières locales avec Arkadaş dans le quartier du Capitol Hill.

En faisant le blog je me rends compte qu'on a pas pris beaucoup de photos de la ville. Et pourtant on a adoré. La ville est très jolie, surtout avec la baie et les montagnes aux alentours. Mais ce qu'on aimé principalement c'est l'ambiance très décontractée qui y règne. Et ça c'est dur à prendre en photo.
While preparing this post I realize we didn't take any photos of the city. Yet, we like Seattle so much. The city is quite pretty with the bay and the mountains surrounding it. What we liked most is the laid-back atmosphere difficult to capture in a photo.

China park
Quatrième et dernier week-end avec papy et mamie. Pendant qu'ils arpentent les rues de Chinatown, Ozan admire la grande tour Trans-America et joue dans le parc avec les petits asiatiques du quartier.
Fourth and last weekend with grandparents: they walk around Chinatown while Ozan admires the Trans-America tower and plays in the parc with the little kids of the neighborhood.
