July 6th/ 6 Juillet

Et non toujours pas d'Ozan. Mais on nous a dit qu'on aurait tres peu le temps de cuisiner une fois qu'il sera là, alors on prend les devants, on rempli le congélo de bon yum.
Nope still no Ozan. But we've been told that once he'll be there we'll have no time to even cook (Deniz has a hard time believing this) so we prepare some goodies for later.

July 5th/ 5 Juillet

5 juillet, et toujours pas d'Ozan. Il faut marcher, il faut marcher on nous dit. Alors on va faire un petit tour dans notre quartier, l'appareil photo à la main.
July 5th and still no sign of Ozan. You need to walk they say so we go for another walk around our neighborhood today.

July 4th/ 4 Juillet

4 Juillet, bientot 21h, et toujours pas d'Ozan. A moins qu'il nous la joue comme l'équipe de foot turque et se pointe à la dernière seconde avant minuit, ce sera donc pour un autre jour. On pert patience, mais comme on a appris qu'il fallait marcher pour aider le bébé à venir, alors on va faire un tour au parc Tilden, juste derrière chez nous.
4th of July has come, and it's nearly 9PM, still no sign of Ozan. If he doesn't play it like the Turkish football team and make his way out in the last minute before midnight, it looks like it's going to happen another day. We're getting impatient! Since we heard that it helps to walk to naturally induce labor we went for a hike in Tilden park just behind our house.

Seun Kuti

Dimanche dernier, concert en plein air de Seun Kuti, le fils de Fela Kuti, dans le parc Stern Grove à SF.
Last Sunday an outdoors concert with Seun Kuti, Fela Kuti's son at the Stern Grove parc in SF.

Angel Island

Dimanche dernier, sortie avec le labo d'Alex. En route pour Angel Island, une île située au milieu de la baie. On prend le ferry sur le port de San Francisco.
Last Sunday, there was a field trip organized with Alex's lab. On the road for Angel Island situated in the middle of the bay. We took the ferry from the port of San Francisco.

...et démolition de leur château de sable.
...followed by the demolition of their sand castle.







Et nous voila au sommet. Il nous reste une petite heure pour redescendre et attrapper le dernier ferry. Après avoir avoir tenté de prendre deux raccourcis à travers les bois et les "poison oaks" (plantes très courantes mais aussi très toxiques), on finira la descente en sprint et attrapera d'extrème justesse notre dernière chance de regagner la terre ferme. Pas de photo donc lors de la descente.
And here we are at the peak. We've only got half an hour left to get back down and catch the ferry to go back. After trying in vain to find shortcuts through the woods, bushes and poison oaks (a common plant here but also very toxic!). We finished the descent running and hardly cached the last ferry thus our last chance to get out of the island. There was obviously no time for pictures on the way down.
