Road trip day 1: Berkeley - Big Pine

Pour fêter nos noces de bois (5 ans déjà!) on a décidé de se faire un petit "road trip" en Californie. On laisse Ozan et Annanne dans la grisaille Berkeleyenne (la photo ci-contre ne rend pas bien compte du temps pourri qu'ils ont dû endurer pendant ces quelques jours) et on s'en va plein est. On traverse la Sierra Nevada au niveau du lac Tahoe, paradis du skieur et seul endroit praticable en hiver puis, après un bref passage par le Nevada, on descend vers le sud entre deux chaînes de montagnes, la Sierra Nevada et les White Mountains.
To celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary we decided to leave Ozan to his anneanne (and the grey Berkeleyen skies) and escape to the Death Valley. We crossed the Sierra Nevada by Lake Tahoe, briefly passed Nevada and wend down south between two sets of mountains (the White Mountains and the Sierras)

Puis on arrive au lac volcanique Mono, derrière Yosemite, où l'on fera une petite randonnée.
Then we arrive to the volcanic Lake Mono behind Yesmite, where we go for a little hike.

Le soir venu, direction Big Pine où notre motel nous attend.
The evening comes around and we go to our motel in Big Pine.
